Health & Fitness Calculators for Weight Loss

BMI Calculator - calculates your Body Mass Index (muscles-to-fats proportion) using your height, weight, and gender ratio to assess your health risks to obesity or unhealthy weight gain or overweight ness.

Metabolic Calculator - calculates the amount of calories your body needs as determined by your weight, gender, age, and activity level. This measures your metabolism and determines if you're taking in too much or extra (unused) calories that only turn to fats, and eventually how much calories you need to cut from your diet.

Weight Loss Calculator - calculates the ideal average weight loss you must achieve per week as determined by your current weight and your target weight. This also determines the exact date you will be able to achieve your weight loss goal.

Do You Frequently Hold the Tape Measure? But How Accurate Is Your Waist Circumference Measure?

The ways, or weight loss tools, by which you could find easily out for yourself if you have already reached an obesity level are through medical checkup measures (you DO need to visit your doctor), guide from using the BMI Calculator, Metabolic Calculator, or Weight Loss Calculator, and some very handy tracking measures as your Waist Circumference count. With all of these measures, the Waist Circumference measure is probably the most efficient and easiest technique to watch your health. However, as with all the other tools that could be used, the Waist Circumference measurement could also be easily wronged. Here's exactly how you should measure as suggested by the National Dairy Council:

1) Find the upper hip bone and the top of your right iliac crest, the portion of the pelvic bone at the belt line.

2) Wrap a measuring tape around your middle - at the level of the belt area at the top of your pelvic bone.

3) Breathe out -- don't hold your breath or suck in your stomach.

4) Make sure the measuring tape is not too loose or too tight around your middle, and make sure you aren't holding the tape at an angle.

For males, you are considered clinically obese if it measures 40+ inches, and for women 35+ inches. Better know how to use that tape measure correctly 'cause with obesity, every inch counts.
